We are laser-engraving experts. We stock lots of lovely gifts, made from wood, slate, steel and other natural materials. Everything starts blank and we engrave them one by one - while you wait (or keep shopping) or as soon as we can if you order online.
There aren't many personalisation businesses where you can come and visit a physical shop, and we find that people love this aspect of what we do: you can touch and feel the products before ordering, see our full range in the flesh and talk to an expert who will ensure your order comes out beautifully.
Stuart & Rosie Treasurer started Cleancut Wood Ltd. in 2011 making online-order personalised gifts and original furniture from a workshop on the Wirral, but always wanted to set up a shop offering while-you-wait personalisation. A pop-up shop in a converted horse trailer at Cheshire Oaks in the summer of 2017 was a perfect way to dip our toes into the water.
We are pleased to say the response was wonderful: the made-while-you-shop service proved very popular with Cheshire Oaks visitors. A larger horse trailer studio conversion followed, trading in various locations at the outlet centre.
in 2019 we moved to the revamped plaza area outside the Nike Factory Store, just next to the summer/Christmas area, rebranded as Custom Gift Studio. Our store was set up in a pair of 20ft shipping containers, more room than we had ever had before!
In the autumn of 2022 we opened a second studio in the newly opened New Chester Market - no longer in converted shipping containers but in a great setting surrounded by other small, independent businesses. In early 2023 we moved out of the containers at Cheshire Oaks and concentrated on our Chester city centre location.
Later in 2023 we returned to Cheshire Oaks, this time in a mobile container trailer, located next to Wagamamas restaurant, closing our Chester store.
